Flight

Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics

The flight degree program provides the academic foundation and flight training needed to launch a career as a commercial pilot. Students earn the certificates and ratings required to fly commercially — all while earning their degree.

Maintenance

Aviation Maintenance Technology

Offered as a diploma or associate's degree, this program prepares students to become FAA-certified airframe and powerplant (A&P) technicians. With hands-on instruction in our maintenance lab, students learn to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair today’s complex aircraft systems.

Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business / Master of Aviation Science

These non-flight programs prepare students for leadership roles in the business side of aviation. From airport operations and logistics to safety and management, graduates gain the skills to navigate and influence a dynamic global industry.

Our admissions team is here to guide every step — from the first question to the first day of class.

As the mandatory first step in the application process, students can schedule an admissions meeting to explore their goals, interests, and program options. During the meeting, our team will also discuss student life, career outcomes, and next steps to enrollment.

Financial Aid

CAU is committed to helping students make aviation education affordable. Eligible students have access to federal financial aid. Our financial services team assists families in understanding their options and completing the necessary forms. 

Available funding options may include:

  • Federal and state grants and loans
  • CAU tuition reductions and external scholarships
  • Veteran education benefits (GI Bill®)
  • Payment plans for eligible students

We encourage students to start the FAFSA early and connect with a CAU financial services coordinator to explore the best funding option for their situation.

    CAU Cessna fleet

    CAU offers multiple locations designed to meet students where they are in their aviation journey. Our Main Campus in Bakersfield, California provides the full university experience — ideal for graduating seniors who want to live on campus, complete their flight training, and earn their degree in an immersive aviation environment.

    CAU’s Oxnard, San Diego, and Phoenix locations offer a hybrid learning format. Students complete academic coursework online while conducting flight training at their local airport.
